It’s a brand new year, and you might be about a week of persistence away from calling it quits on at least one resolution.
It might be a workout you’re struggling to get up for. Maybe you just can’t bring yourself to say no to cookies again. Perhaps there’s a big project you wanted to take on for the first half of this year and it’s wearing you down already. Worn down is a good place to quit. A good place to call it a year.
We can’t blame you.
For everyone who is already tackling a whole lot, persist with us. We get it. Things are difficult year-round and seem to get easier only by slivers of a degree. It’s all pretty maddening, but we intend to face that madness. Chaos is our fuel in January and it’ll be our fuel all year. In the fashion industry, we have a certain taste for the hectic, the daily life that refuses to be routine, every new challenge giving you hours at most to overcome it.
That chaos welcomes a quickening pace in your step, your heartbeat, your stress. For this year, don’t worry about the most popular goals and resolutions. Don’t stress yourself over the specific milestones every social media page and magazine ad pins on to you. This year, you’re an individual.

And not just any individual, you’re a lover of the hectic.
Your deadlines, projects, tough days at work, tough days at home, you’ll take them on in equal stride. You’ll love it, without ever falling in love with it. You’ll accept those challenges that seem tedious. You won’t have to be smiling when you do it, but you’ll want to when you do.
Because that is resolution. Being resolute in your own ability to tackle the year’s challenges, and beyond, is all you need. It’ll make you jump out of bed in the morning and relish it at night. You won’t always dominate, but you’ll never be dominated.
Stay resolute with us. Stay remarkable in how you approach all things chaotic. Stay optimistic when you have no reason to be. Stay resolute, year in and year out.
Here at Korlekie, we are all about being of use to our community. Our blog is a way of doing just that. We love what we do, we love putting together beautiful garments, but that love is incomplete if we’re not helping our community get by, even in some small way.
You keep us afloat every day. So, you better hold on, because we’re keeping you up with us.
From interviews with upcoming local talent, spotlighting something bright and beautiful in our community, or giving you some tips on fashion and knitting, we’re here to help.
To be resolute is to be a Queen, all year long.
